In the weddings of yester-year, a wedding theme would mean at most, perhaps a certain colour for the bridesmaids, groomsmen and guests to wear etc, maybe some particular wedding themed music. A themed wedding based on something you love, such as your favourite time travelling movie trilogy will be more fun, memorable and be more about you and your personality as a couple than a typical and traditional wedding that everyone else has. OK, it maybe a bit silly but hey, so what? A Wedding day is a celebration of your love, laughter and happy ever after and should be the most epic party of your lifetimes. Remember your future wedding plans haven’t been written yet so make them good ones and have the wedding you want, not the one everyone expects you to have.

Even Doc Emmett Brown was a romantic at heart when he said that time travel is just too dangerous and that he had better devote himself to studying the other great mystery of the universe: women! Indeed, Back to the Future’s story and plot lines are hinged around time travel but its story was ultimately a lot about love, relationships and indeed marriage! The premise and story outline of Back to the Future Origins go back to 1980 after Bob Gale found his father's school yearbook. He wondered if he and his father would have been friends as youths. Bob Gale and Robert Zemeckis realised that time travel could answer this question. Of course, we know the film’s favourite time-travelling protagonist Marty McFly has to ensure his mum and dad meet, fall in love, eventually marry and have a family (including him!)
You would be surprised to know that initially the script was pitched to over 40 studios and rejected! Luckily for us, it made it to the big screen. In the years since its release, Back to the Future has grown in esteem and is now considered to be among the best films of the 1980’s and one of the greatest science-fiction films ever made. The U.S. Library of Congress even selected the film for preservation in the National Film Registry as it was found to be ‘‘culturally, historically or aesthetically significant.’’ Today with the film’s high popularity among wedding couples who would have grown up in the 80’s and 90s watching the film and now in 2021 and beyond are getting married, all make for a great wedding theme! So, Great Scott! A sci-fi-themed wedding sounds amazing, how can we make this happen?

You could go Country & Western with a hat tip to BTTF3, jump into some Chuck Berry-style rock and roll of the 1950s and then jump again forward in time to the 1980s and well who doesn’t love the 80s right? In the film, Marvin Berry, a fictitious cousin of Chuck Berry, phones Chuck and lets him listen to the music. The real "Johnny B. Goode" was released only three years after the time it was played in the film.
