Filming this wedding was always about trying to the tell the story of what these two were about, however of course when a couple choose a wedding venue I think that also says something about them too. The idea and theme of a fairytale wedding is common place in peoples desires when planning a wedding but when you take all the historical elements of Pentney Abbey, including the medieval gatehouse where the ceremony took place (including a princess style staircase for the bride and her father to enter giving a grand sense of arrival), a medieval banqueting hall setting for the wedding breakfast/evening party with idyllic gardens, this place definitely ticks a lot of boxes fo all things ‘fairytale wedding’.
